Finally, after what has been a long 4 years without anything from Dragon Ball Super except for the Broly movie and a series of small episodes of a spin-off titled Dragon Ball Heroes, we’ve finally got the news that a new movie is set for a 2022 release.
Akira Toriyama also shared a special message to the fans of Dragon Ball;
It’s finally happening, a new Dragon Ball movie has been announced, and I and many other fans can not wait to see what they have in store for us.
All we really know about the movie is that the story will be an original story from Akira Toriyama and that it may feature an “unexpected character”, which has sent fans wild with guesses on who it could be from Cooler, Cell, Super Saiyan 4, and many more.
Many fans thought we’d get an announcement for a new series but at this point, I’ll take a movie. I just hope it leads into a new series as many fans loved the Super series. The series ended on a high note, with Goku and Vegeta reaching new limits in their power.
There are so many ways they could go in this movie, especially for it to lead into a series, it’ll be interesting to see what will happen once more information about the movie releases later this year.
I am praying that we get some form of announcement for a series sometime soon.
