What I Liked

1. Right away, we are thrown into the Jedi Temple in the midst of Order 66. Where we see a Padawan training a group of Younglings. We then get a larger expanded view of the 501st Legion executing Order 66. What a way to begin.

2. The arrival of the Inquisitors is immediately felt. The main worry that I had was that the Grand Inquisitor would feel off compared to the version we had received in Star Wars Rebels, however, you could tell it was him straight away. I have no worries going forward now.

3. I like how we see the PTSD kick in while Obi-Wan tries to sleep. We not only see that his fight with Anakin is haunting him but the loss of Qui-Gonn, Padme, and somewhat Yoda is all playing a key factor in his nightmares.

4. Reva is brutal. I really like her as an Inquisitor already. She’s determined to get to Obi-Wan, as well as any other Jedi. She cuts off a civilian’s hand as well as threatens Owen and his family. She’s ruthless to the point even the Fifth Brother has to step in and move on.

5. This young actress who has been cast as a young Leia has absolutely nailed the role of Leia from every single role I’ve seen whether that be live-action or animation, you can tell immediately that it’s Leia.

6. We saw what Obi-Wan did with both his and Anakin’s lightsabers, buried them in the sands of Tatooine. I like how it’s been 10 years and Obi-Wan still knew where they were buried.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would have to be when Obi-Wan stumbles across a Jedi being hunted out in the desert. The Jedi asks Obi-Wan what happened to him, he was once a great Jedi. Obi-Wan, being the broken Jedi he is telling the Jedi to go out into the desert and bury the lightsaber, and live a normal life. You can slightly tell that this hurt Obi-Wan to do.

Standout Character

I’m honestly stuck between Obi-Wan and Reva. Both had some huge moments in this episode. I think I’m going to have to give it to Reva, I knew she was going to be brutal but not like that.

Verdict

A fantastic start to what is shaping up to be a great miniseries. Seeing Obi-Wan deal with the PTSD from his former life as a Jedi Master was honestly so great to see. Seeing his new life of repeating himself over and over was eye-opening too. The Order 66 flashback was fantastic too.
