What I Liked
1. The episode begins with Obi-Wan awaking on a ship. You can see him badly burned on his entire arm. Tala puts Obi-Wan into a Bacta Tank to heal his burns. We get this cool scene where we see both Obi-Wan and Vader in a Bacta Tank, both are physically and mentally in distress. I really liked this scene.
2. This scene with Tala and Obi-Wan is literally Jedi Fallen Order and I am absolutely loving it. Seeing Obi-Wan not care for himself and going straight to saving Leia is truly fantastic to see. While this is going on Reva is trying to use her Force ability on Leia’s mind but she’s got a strong mind to not allow Reva to infiltrate her mind.
3. Obi-Wan stumbles across what the Empire is hiding below Fortress Inquisitorus and it’s actually quite disturbing. The bodies of fallen Jedi and Younglings. Encased in this orange substance which allows the bodies to be preserved.
4. Reva had a badass moment when Obi-Wan, Tala, and Leia were being saved by two ships, Reva was deflecting the ship’s lasers and then used the Force to throw a bomb hitting the ship. This moment was quickly taken away when Darth Vader walked up and Forced choked her thinking she had failed him.
What I Disliked
O’Shea Jackson Jr character reveal. I think A LOT of fans and viewers will be upset that he isn’t Quinlan Vos. It’s been speculated for a week about who his character was, where he is etc. I’m disappointed but it’s not a major thing. At least Quinlan is still available to appear.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment would have to be Obi-Wan and Leia’s escape from the Fortress. Seeing Obi-Wan deflect laser shots, as well as taking down multiple Stormtroopers while using the Force to hold a broken window together that is stopping tons of water from getting into the tunnel is pure Jedi Fallen Order. It is amazing.
Standout Character
Obi-Wan Kenobi. Took his injuries on the chin, used a Bacta Tank, and got straight back to work on saving Leia. He could have waited and planned properly, but no, he stormed Fortress Inquisitorus and got her back. Legendary Jedi has returned.
Verdict
Overall a really fun, action-packed, powerful, and fearful episode. This episode was very “Jedi Fallen Order” and you can see that with how the episode was planned out. It translated well from video games to live-action essentially. Even more of a connection between Obi-Wan and Cal Kestis now.
