It’s been a while since we’ve had anything related to Peacemaker since the series ended, we’ve only had his introduction into the Mortal Kombat universe but other than that the live-action side of things has been fairly quiet, until recently.
Recently on Instagram, Jennifer Holland (James Gunn’s wife) who stars in the Peacemaker series responded to a fan comment about the show to which she revealed the second season of John Cena’s Peacemaker will begin filming in the summer.
James Gunn also posted a screenshot of this comment and he confirmed some details regarding Peacemaker, Superman, and The Waller series. While James did confirm Cena shared the news on the Howard Stern show, Gunn followed up with some other questions.
He revealed that they’ll shoot both the Superman movie and the Peacemaker series simultaneously. He also stated that he has written all the episodes but he will not be able to direct all of them, but will be directing some of them.
He also confirmed the Amanda Waller project is still happening and that Jeremy and Christal are hard at work writing great stuff but with the strikes, the schedule was impacted so Waller will come after Peacemaker in the larger order of things.
Gunn also responded to some comments in his comment section where he revealed that season 1 of Peacemaker will NOT be canon to season 2. He also stated that the events in Superman will impact Peacemaker season 2.
Gunn also stated that the strikes impacted other DCU projects but didn’t give any specifics as to what they were.
