What I Liked
1. We get a flashback from 10 years ago when Alfred and Daveboy are on a kidnapping mission in Rabat, Morocco. It’s nice to see some footage of Alfred’s days in the military, especially since it connects to present-day storylines.
2. I love the fact that Alfred straight up says what he wants, whatever needs to be said or done he does it. Without hesitation. The fact that he can straight up speak and tell the Prime Minister straight is fantastic and is just another special quality that Alfred has.
3. Alfred walks in on his mother getting some action *winky face*. While this scene could have turned out to be a cringe-fest. It wasn’t, it was actually quite hilarious cause Alfred was more worried about his mother hiding his guns where they get filthy.
4. Zahra Khin finally finds out that Alfred was one of the soldiers that kidnapped her father. Alfred tells her to trust him and that this man who exposed Alfred wasn’t and isn’t her friend, that he sold out her father. He also tells her that her father was just another target. It’s why he’s been trying to quit protecting her.
5. Bet Sykes has seemingly been killed off. I know this should and will be a dislike for most people but I’m quite happy with this. I feel like this character has had her story told, she was basically a babysitter in this season.
6. Gotham City makes an appearance in the show. Thomas’s father has a similar fate to Thomas by getting killed in an alleyway by Thomas himself. WHAT!!! This is a shock.
What I Disliked
1. Again, This whole Bet storyline is not interesting at all, even with the involvement of a knock-off of Captain Blighty. I’m more interested in the basic storyline that Alfred has got going on.
2. Even though this episode had plenty of action, it still felt like a very slow episode. I don’t know, the pacing feels a bit weird in this episode, it might just be me but I can’t quite grasp the pacing for some reason.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment would simply be Bet trying to get her baby back. She kills two soldiers but then gets stabbed by the former leader of the Ravens. She’s bleeding quite badly but manages to shoot him in the neck and stab him with his own weapon.
Standout Character
I’ll give this to Alfred. What I mean by this is we saw his world get turned upside down. We saw him emotionally drained by his actions in the past coming back to haunt him.
Verdict
Honestly, while this episode had plenty of action, the pacing of the episode felt off. The story was interesting and the reveals about Alfred’s past came back to viciously haunt him. We got a shock at the end with the Gotham City killing of Thomas’s father.
