What I Liked
1. Just knowing what Lucious Fox goes on to do involving Batman, his tech, his gadgets, and the vehicles that he designs purely for Batman makes it always welcome to see a young Lucious appear in this Pennyworth series.
2. Alfie asks Daveboy if Keith is Sandra’s boyfriend, there is a hint of jealousy, remorse, and emotional damage that Alfie doesn’t let out. Daveboy begins to laugh telling Alfie that he missed out there. Daveboy is arguably one of my favorite characters in any superhero TV show. he’s just hilarious yet badass.
3. 3 Men in suits, slicked-back hair, and shiny shoes arrive and kill Sister Suzie without hesitation, they go to kill Martha but are killed by Alfie and Daveboy before they can get a chance. It seems whoever is controlling Thomas’s father is also behind everything else and could seemingly be the “big bad” of the season.
4. Sandra’s song is the trigger for Jessica. The CIA has made a drug that basically controls people and they were testing it out with the Sister Suzie cult people. This will make for an interesting storyline throughout the season. This drug can literally make anyone a killing machine.
What I Disliked
1. This is exactly why hiding things and keeping secrets does not work. They always get found out eventually and they cause some dramatic arguments between the two parties. Martha keeping secrets from Thomas is a huge deal.
2. I also dislike the fact that Thomas is ignoring the fact that his father knows about MI5 and Martha’s involvement with that faction. Why is he so keen to get Martha to work for him, and why is Thomas skipping over the fact that he knows when Thomas himself doesn’t?
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment came surprisingly early in the episode, and from no other than Daveboy. He’s at the hospital watching over Jessica when the guard is killed and someone is kidnapping her. He runs to her rescue and gets into a fight with the kidnapper, Daveboy manages to kill the kidnapper but fails to save Jessica from rolling down the stairs in her wheelchair, luckily she lands in some towels.
Standout Character
I’m going to give this one to Jessica. She was truly amazing in this episode. She played the role of a helpless victim and immediately could turn around a play a psychotic killer.
Verdict
Another great episode. The story is fantastic and is doing a good job of keeping me invested. Previous episodes couldn’t do that. The action and blood throughout this episode were insane too. Truly enjoyed this episode.
