Season 2 Episode 9 “With less than 48 hours, Alfred, Thomas, and Martha concoct a plan to infiltrate Raven headquarters with Daveboy and Lucius to steal Project Stormcloud.”
What I Liked?
1. Thomas, Martha, and Lucius go to visit Alfie to see if he’ll help with the mission, with a few interruptions from his mother saying no, Alfie agrees. He goes to visit Sandra to apologize and speak with her, he tells her he’s going on a dodgy mission and he’s scared he might not come back. This is legitimately the only time I’ve seen Alfie nervous.
2. Alfie, Thomas, Daveboy, and Lucius go to the Raven Union headquarters to steal the Stormcloud and save the day. Daveboy is still a tiny bit angry about not being in Gotham. They manage to get into the elevator with 4 guards who are quickly taken out by Daveboy and Alfie.
3. The group manages to infiltrate the lab and steal Stormcloud, they get all the way back into the reception area and are met with armed guards on both sides of them. Alfie tries to bluff his way out by threatening to release Stormcloud but the new leader calls him on it. The group then gets captured.
4. While the four lads are in cages, Bett and Peg are trying to make their way back out of the Raven Union but end up hiding in the same room as the lads. Bett releases them and gives Alfie a small pep talk. The four try to escape but end up getting captured again.
The Raven Union leader tries to offer jobs working for him but they each refuse with Daveboy being the only one to be slapped by the leader. Alfies Dad tries to talk him into it but tells him there is a gun in his jacket, Alfie uses it and the four, along with Alfie’s dad manage to finally escape with Stormcloud.
What I Disliked?
I very much dislike this new Raven Union leader. He’s just a straight-up weird bloke. He’s not as menacing as Lord Harwood could have been and well quite frankly should have been.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment has to go to the part where Alfie sees his dad again for the first time since last season. The reaction Alfie gave was pure shock-value. This scene between the two was superb.
Standout Character
It’s got to be Alfie this week. His emotion in his scenes were pure excellence.
The Verdict
Overall a very solid all-around episode. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the episode including the scenes which were not really needed. Definitely one of the better episodes and has me curious as to how the last couple of episodes will play out.
