What I Liked
1. The opening scene indeed shows just how much of a classic Alfred is, how much of a gentleman he actually is. Very old-fashioned in the sense that since Sandra is pregnant, he and she should be married. He’s trying to do the right thing but Sandra isn’t haven’t it.
2. Lucious is manning up and infiltrating a prison for “enhanced people” himself to free them. This is a side of this version of Lucious we truly haven’t seen so this is really interesting to see. Obviously, it’s Lucious so it will potentially go wrong.
3. Finally, Alfred’s mother is getting used in a useful way. She is being impersonated by an enhanced person to kidnap Samantha, Thomas, and Martha’s daughter for £100,000 pounds in ransom money. While this won’t last, I do like how she’s using Alfred’s mother.
4. Thomas Wayne and Alfred both get into a fight, even though Alfred managed to get his opponent down and out, Thomas was getting his arse handed to him until Alfred saves him by stopping the CIA agent who was using his father but while Alfred didn’t pull the trigger, Martha Wayne sure did.
What I Disliked
I won’t lie, I thought Bet Sykes had a fantastic send-off, protecting a baby, and paying the ultimate price to do that, so to see her rock up and become an enhanced person is slightly underwhelming, to say the least.
Favorite Moment
My favorite moment would be whoever is making threats to Thomas and Martha Wayne, has truly made the Wayne family lose it. They made Thomas Wayne stand up in front of a big crowd and admit that he killed his father. Whoever this mystery person is, they are fantastic.
Standout Character
The standout character this week is a difficult one. While no one truly stood out, I’ll have to give this to Alfred because of that opening scene. I like how he was rushing into the marriage proposal and it took that man potentially hurting Samantha to fully realize that is what he wants.
Verdict
An actually interesting episode. I was fully caught by the story for multiple reasons. The action was great but the story was absolutely fantastic. Alfred is becoming more mature by the episode and it’s actually really great to see it.
