What I Liked
1. Right from the beginning, you can feel and slightly see that Alfred is still dealing with the effects of the prison heist he pulled in the last episode. He isn’t his normal happy-going self. I hope we get to explore this more.
2. I do like how this show explores the early days of these “superheroes and supervillains”. The reception that enhanced people have gotten is insane and truly captures the hate that they get. It’s very different from modern-day DC heroes.
3. So now we know what was in the letter that Sandra gave to Daveboy. Alfred is potentially going to be a father, depending on what Sandra does with her decision about being pregnant. This was an important scene but held at bay with some comedic moments between Alfred and Daveboy arguing.
4. It finally looks as though the mind control drug and the Guy Fawkes masks are coming back into play in the storyline. I’m so intrigued and hope this continues in the last few episodes.
What I Disliked
It does feel like the stereotypical storyline of the “I’m going to be a father, so I’ll get knocked out cold before the fight” story. It is very predictable in that way. It’s also very predictable that Blighty would sacrifice himself in this episode. They spoke about him not looking good the entire episode.
Favorite Moment
Captain Blighty is tasked with taking down the enhanced person that is feeding off the electricity grid. The villain attacks Blighty and Blighty returns the favor. Blighty, however, begins to lose control of his suit. So Alfred and Daveboy save him.
Standout Character
Surprisingly, Captain Blighty takes the standout this week. He truly cared for Alfred. He knocks him out cold to keep him alive so he can be a father. Blighty then takes the ultimate move for the cause when he sacrifices himself to stop this week’s villain.
Verdict
Honestly, an average episode at best. The story was very predictable, the death was predictable, and the overall story was average. The only thing I was surprised at was the pregnancy announcement for Alfred. I want to see more of the Guy Fawkes masks.
