While it is only in animation, Predator will once again be shown on screen, this time in an animated fashion, as seen in the trailer above, which looks fantastic. A new Predator series is coming to Hulu on June 6.
As someone who has loved the Predator since I was young, this series is everything I’ve ever wanted. Although if I’m being honest, I would have preferred this to be live-action, animated was the next best thing I could have asked for.
As someone who has wished for more within this universe, some of the stuff I’ve asked for has been revealed in this trailer. Coming hot off the heels of Prey, I spoke about wanting more time periods involving the Predator.
Two of these were shown in this trailer. The first time period I asked to see was feudal Japan. This was simply because I played Predator: Hunting Grounds and saw a samurai skin for the Predator in that game. I also thought about the time we saw a standoff with a Yakuza member and a Predator using Samurai swords in the Predators movie.
The second time period I asked to see was World War 1 or 2. I’m not sure why, but I just thought I would have liked to see soldiers be hunted within a war and see how the Predator would react to being involved in that environment. It seems to be answered within this series.
What I wasn’t sure of was the Viking era and having a Predator there. As Vikings are fierce warriors, it will be interesting to see how they match up against the deadly hunter in the Predator.
Honestly, I am so excited for this series and even more so now I know Rick Gonzalez is involved in the voice cast.
