“Predator” Prequel Gets A New Title and Release Date

A new Predator movie has been in development for a while now. On Disney+ Day, the studio announced that it’s new Predator movie is set to release in summer 2022 and the new title will be Prey. While the upcoming film was shot under the title “Skulls“.

Dan Trachtenberg is set to direct the upcoming Predator movie, Trachtenberg is known for 10 Cloverfield Lane. Today some new information was released about the plot for the upcoming movie.

The upcoming Predator movie is set in the world of the Comanche Nation, 300 years ago. The movie follows Naru, portrayed by Amber Midthunder, a skilled female warrior who fiercely protects her tribe against a highly evolved alien predator.

The script was written by Patrick Aison, whose producer-writer credits include the series Kingdom, Jack Ryan, and Treadstone. Jhane Myers is also a producer, she is a member of the Comanche Nation and a Sundance Fellow.

Prey wrapped on September 12, in Calgary as revealed by the film’s DP Jeff Cutter. The Predator movies throughout all six films including the two Alien vs. Predator movies have grossed $750.8 million at the global box office.

Prey will also debut on the streaming service Hulu.
