As of late, I’ve been on a Predator binge watch. The movie franchise for the Predators has been incredible with action-packed moments and great fight scenes between aliens.
So I thought to myself, what would the order of how I personally ranked the movies including the Aliens vs Predator movies.
In no way is this list a worst to best but just based on how I personally rank the movies and why.
6. Predator (1987)
Now Predator starring Arnold Schwarzenegger was a great movie but while it gave us our first look at the Predator it left me with questions like what would happen if this Predator fought another Predator. This movie also leads me into my journey of wanting to see more kinds of Predators.
5. Alien vs. Predator (2004)
The first crossover and I hope we get more. I’ve never really liked the Alien creatures so to see this movie was great. This movie stood out to me for the simple fact it showcased just how much of a brutal hunter a Predator can be. The movie also teased us with the Predalien.
4. Predator 2 (1990)
When people mention that sequels can ruin a prequel movie this movie certainly didn’t do that. This movie expanded the Predator universe and mythos. It gave us a new look at a new “clan” of Predators which was named the Lost Tribe.
3. Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (2007)
Set shortly after the events of the first Alien vs. Predator movie lead into our first hybrid creature… The Predalien. It once again puts a spotlight on a new type of Predator… The “Veteran” Predator who comes to Earth to clean up the mess of the Aliens and the Predalien. The Predator showcased how brutal and experienced he was as a warrior by taking out basically a town full of Aliens and mortally wounding the Predalien.
2. The Predator (2018)
Now a lot of people talk badly about this movie but I 100% disagree with those statements. Yes, the story was nothing compared to the original script but the movie once again showcased a different side of the Predators. The movie gave us a Predator who had human DNA and wanted to give the Humans a chance at survival but it also gave us an enhanced Predator with destroyed the Predator. I hope we get a sequel to this movie as it 1000% deserves it.
1. Predators (2010)
Now for the most controversial #1 pick of the list. Predators gave me exactly what I wanted to see in a movie. The Predators literally hunting… that’s it. It showcased “Bad Bloods” Predator who didn’t want to follow the code that normal Predators follow. The 3 Predators purposely wanted to hunt and kill.
Predators franchise has been great and deserves many more movies, games and even books about these hunters and their world.
If I could choose what to do with them next? I would have the movie set on their world with a war between factions or use a part of the original script of the 2018 movie and have a couple of Predator’s help the humans out.
I want Boyd Holbrook to return to the franchise as well as Olivia Munn. These two have such great chemistry it would be a mistake not to have them return in a future movie.
