Ruby Rose Leaves Batwoman Ahead Of Season 2

This isn’t a joke either. Ruby Rose has decided to leave her role as Batwoman ahead of the already planned, and the announcement of season 2 that was originally supposed to air in January 2021.

In a statement she said;

“I have made the very difficult decision to not return to Batwoman next season,” said Rose in a statement. “This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles. I am beyond appreciative to Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Caroline Dries for not only giving me this incredible opportunity, but for welcoming me into the DC universe they have so beautifully created. Thank you Peter Roth and Mark Pedowitz and the teams at Warner Bros. and The CW who put so much into the show and always believed in me. Thank you to everyone who made season one a success – I am truly grateful.”

The CW and Warner Bros. have claimed the show will continue, as the role will be recast ahead of season 2.

Variety claimed a source told them the exit had nothing to do with her injury or health. For those who don’t know, Ruby did undergo emergency surgery for two herniated discs.

I am absolutely gutted to hear the news. We were just talking during the finale at how much of an amazing job Ruby had done with the role.

I’m a bit concerned about how they can recast the role going forward with the current story.

Thank you Ruby, for everything.
