She-Hulk: Attorney at Law “Ribbit and Rip it” Review

Season 1 Episode 8 – She-Hulk represents Leap-Frog who was injured due to a malfunction in his custom-made super suit.

Please note, our reviews are based on likes and dislikes. These contain major spoilers. If you haven’t already watched the episode we would recommend that you click off the article, and come back once you have watched the episode. Enjoy!

What I Liked

1. Leap-Frog opened the scene in a hilarious fashion. The fact he got made to look like a moron by 2 thugs stealing televisions was funny. You really expected it to be Daredevil at first and I just got baited into that scene.

2. Now it’s gotten interesting. One of the many things I’ve always wanted to see is more Matt Murdoch in full lawyer mode. After She-Hulk is suing Luke (the man who makes her suits) for Leap-Frog’s “malfunctioning” suit, it’s Matt who is defending Luke. This means it’s Jen vs Matt in the courtroom. Perfect.

3. Another interesting take from Matt here. The Sokovian Accords have been annulled. This is one of the first times we’ve heard about the accords in a long time.

4. We almost got another hallway scene before She-Hulk ruined it but seeing Daredevil take down goons makes me so unbelievably happy! It’s so damn nice to see Charlie Cox back as Matt annihilating goons.

5. A small scene that made me laugh after Jen and Matt infiltrated the “Lillypad”. A goon ran up and tried to hit She-Hulk with a bat and she just replied with; “it’s sad that you thought that was gonna work”. Hilarious.

6. Matt and Jen sleep together. I was not expecting that. I’ve got to say though the two of them do have chemistry. This could be a good direction for Daredevil’s series as well to include Jen. Also, Matt walking through the streets in his suit without his shoes made me laugh.

7. The show is about to heat up. At the awards ceremony for the female lawyer of the year, Intelligencia or the person behind it outs Jen in front of everyone. We then truly see She-Hulk fully lose control, similar to how Hulk did prior to gaining his own control. This is really getting good.

What I Disliked

My only dislike was She-Hulk taking away a potential hallway scene from Daredevil but the scene was still good nonetheless.

Favourite Moment

It’s She-Hulk vs Daredevil. I’ve got to say Matt looks fantastic, he’s more acrobatic than we’re used to. The fight doesn’t last long but Matt’s witty replies were so damn entertaining. She-Hulk wins the fight by thunder clapping. I really did enjoy this scene.

Standout Character

It’s quite obviously Daredevil. It’s great to see him back properly within the MCU. We’ve only had a small scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home so this entire episode was a very good introduction to his own series, Born Again.

Verdict

Easily the best episode of the season by a long shot. I did not expect to really like any of the She-Hulk episodes but this one blew me away. Bravo! It’s also set the finale up perfectly as well which is always an added bonus on the episode prior to the finale.
