What I Liked
1. The opening montage with Jen and Josh was nice. It was really great to see Jen shine on through and actually be happy, more so considering when she became a Hulk, her life turned upside down. Despite what happens after Josh ghosting Jen, it felt accurate to how someone would react in a situation like that. A good opener for the episode.
2. The ghosting from Josh has definitely pissed Jen off. When she’s about to leave Blonsky’s residence, she comes across a fight and barely even lets it go on. She grabs “Manbull” and just slings him across the path. This was hilarious. I do feel sorry for her in regards to the car, that will be devastating.
3. I’m usually not a fan of the fourth wall breaking but Jen explaining who the guy is at the Blonsky therapy session was very much needed. It was the guy who tried to attack She-Hulk a few episodes ago. This was one of the only FEW times I feel like the fourth wall break was done correctly and did not cringe.
4. After all that with Josh, we learn at the end of the episode that he is actually a dick and the Blonsky guys should’ve carried out their threat to kill. He actually copied all of the data on her phone and sent a text to who I’m presuming is the guy behind the monitors. This will get interesting.
What I Disliked
My only gripe with this episode is the lack of action…again. Despite this being one of the best episodes for me, the action is really letting the show down. We wouldn’t watch a movie about the Hulk where he doesn’t fight, we need to see Jen go all out. The rumor is that Daredevil will be involved next week, so I am hoping this is where the action segment picks up.
Favourite Moment
I did really enjoy the scene where Jen sits with the group and they help her with the ghosting situation. The episode has heavily focused on this but to be fair, it’s definitely different and unique from what we’ve seen in a superhero show. It’s nice to see the group all come together to help her.
Standout Character
It’s She-Hulk of course. The episode really centered around her. She was entertaining this week in going from being happy to be upset, to then coming around with an unorthodox group of people.
Verdict
It was definitely one of the better episodes of the season for me. It’s still missing that action touch and the CGI is still off at times, but the overall premise of the episode was very well done. I thoroughly enjoyed this and I am excited for what’s to come.
