What I Liked

1. Quite the impressive start I must admit. Ally gets out of prison and goes straight through the portal. Superman showcases his speed as he gathers momentum then smashes through the portal. He does go through but this results in him being missing for a month. This has set the episode up perfectly.

2. A building in Smallville is on fire whilst Lana’s Mayoral campaign continues. Jordan hears this mid-conversation with Sarah. He decides to up and leave to go and help. What a scene this was. Jordan swoops, saves Kyle then manages to fly away until John comes in to put the fire out. I was honestly so impressed with this entire direction.

3. After Jordan arrives home to get cleaned up, he’s excited due to the fact he was able to fly, albeit not far. I just love how excited Jon was for Jordan’s new ability. I really do hope that in the near future Jon begins to develop his own powers.

4. Lois storms home full of rage after finding out from John that Jordan has been going full vigilante mode. The one thing that surprised me here is that Jordan actually stood up to her. I liked this because although Lois is terrifying, sometimes she does go a bit overboard. Jordan saved a life and that should be recognized.

5. Candace is finally outed by Jon in the promise that she’s protected by Sam and the DOD. I’m glad this is out. It has been dragging on a fair bit so it’s nice to see that it’s done with.

6. A brief emotional scene with John. After his altercation with Natalie and the fact, it’s their “Lois’” death anniversary. He heads back to the trailer, watches a clip of Lois with Natalie right after she was born. John bursts into tears. This hit so incredibly hard that it was difficult to hold back tears along with him.

7. Lana wins the mayoral campaign! I did thoroughly expect her to lose, so the fact she won is brilliant. I’m excited to see where this goes now.

8. We’ve seen the backstage images of Jon donning the red jeans and leather jacket. This version of Jon shows up at the end of the episode and explains to Lois and Jordan that Superman was too late. The episode does end there but damn that was an amazing ending to what was an incredible episode.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report this week.

Favourite Moment

After Sam and Lois investigate where the Ex K is coming from. They find it. Unfortunately for them, they get caught leaving Jordan in the car. They do call on Jordan who shows up to save them. After he realized he could fly, he also realized after one of the thugs shoots his laser eyes at him, time slows down drastically. Super speed! Jordan with the best grin ever completely annihilates the guy and saves his Mom and Grandpa. Jordan does it again!!

Standout Character

Jordan gets it again. He was the standout in this episode when it came to him becoming a superhero. Every time he gets involved, it’s interesting. Jordan has had some of the best character development with The CW, it’s now beginning to truly show on a major scale.

Verdict

I was honestly fully expecting this episode to be poor as we knew Tyler Hoechlin wouldn’t feature in the episode a lot but this has proved that it’s built its cast up to such a point, that the main character can miss an episode or two and it still is a masterpiece. This is what Superman & Lois gives you as a viewer.
