Spider-Man 4 Finds It’s Director In Destin Daniel Cretton

The filmmaker behind Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be directing the fourth Spider-man film for Sony/Marvel.

The director brings to an end the speculation of who would be the next director for one of the biggest franchises in Hollywood.

Cretton will become the fourth director to take on a Spider-Man solo film with Jon Watts directing the previous three Holland-lead films while Marc Webb directed the Amazing Spider-Man movies and of course, Sam Raimi directing the trilogy that starred Tobey Maguire.

Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers are returning back to script duties, while Marvel head Kevin Feige and former Sony head Amy Pascal are producing the film.

According to sources, Spider-Man 4 is running full steam ahead and will begin shooting early next year.

Tom Holland and Zendaya are both working on new deals to return for the fourth film.
