Spider-Man Movies Ranked

Edit* – Please note, this article is purely an opinion. We’ve had some triggered people kicking off about the list. It’s simply my own list of the movies I prefer. I get that people think Spider-Man 2 is a masterpiece, I don’t, and that’s okay. There is zero need for insults or aggression because of a Spider-Man list.

Over the past few days, the world of Twitter has been in a somewhat conversation about the Spider-Man movies and where they personally rank them in order.

I took a long hard think about this which has somewhat been back and forth in order and I think I have my personal list nailed down fully.

While each Spider-Man movie is decent in its own unique way, this doesn’t technically say a movie is bad if its last.

8. Spider-Man 1 (Tobey Maguire)

This movie stands out for a lot of Spider-Man fans, especially ones who were kids around the time that this movie was released. I mean it’s understandable because it was the first live-action Spider-Man movie to be made. For it’s time, it was truly great, however, I personally think this wasn’t as great as it was.

7. Spider-Man 2 (Tobey Maguire)

While Spider-Man did deliver a great villain in Doc Ock, the story was a major letdown for me personally. I have trouble watching that movie because of the story. It also didn’t help that I found MJ highly annoying throughout the movie. Although I will say, Tobey Maguire did give a better performance than he did in the first movie.

6. Spider-Man 3 (Tobey Maguire)

People love to hate on this movie and honestly, I don’t know why. I absolutely love this movie in the Maguire trilogy. It’s the best one for me personally. I love Tobey Maguire’s performance while donning the iconic symbiote, James Franco was absolutely amazing as Green Goblin and Sandman was great. Fair do’s the design for Venom could have been a bit better, this didn’t take anything away from the movie.

5. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (Andrew Garfield)

I will admit that the second installment in the Garfield movies wasn’t the best for the story and villains. I did absolutely love Garfield’s performance throughout the movie, especially towards the end when he lost Gwen when she died. His performance was absolutely brilliant and even more so when in the deleted scene, Peter was reunited with his father.

4. Homecoming (Tom Holland)

Homecoming, Tom Hollands first solo movie as Spider-Man. The movie debuted a lot of the fan-favorite characters that we love today. For a first movie, this was great, it had the action, humor, suspense, and a great villain in Vulture. I personally think that beginning a solo movie at this time where Peter has already been given the Spider-Man suit by Tony Stark was such a unique way to begin Spider-Man’s story in the MCU.

3. Into the Spider-Verse

Into the Spider-Verse was an animated movie focused purely on Miles Morales and the Multiverse. Everything about this movie stands out, from the music, voice acting, action, animation style, and characters. The characters that we were introduced to in this movie were fantastic, firstly Miles Morales and his origin as Spider-Man, it was perfect. This movie also gave recognition to characters that maybe we wouldn’t see in live-action like Spider-Man Noir.

2. The Amazing Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield)

The Amazing Spider-Man movie is one that I could literally watch forever. The debut for Andrew Garfield, this movie gave me everything from a fantastic and well-acted Peter Parker who was intelligent and awkward. Spider-Man was confident, strong, and the suit was so well made. The Amazing Spider-Man also gave fans the best version of the Flash Thompson character who I could see becoming Agent Venom and could handle that role well.

1. Far From Home (Tom Holland)

Far From Home was the best Spider-Man movie we have had yet, hopefully until we see No Way Home. Far From Home delivered mind-blowing sequences and absolutely debuted one of the best villains there has been in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Mysterio played by Jake Gyllenhaal.

This is my personal order of the Spider-Man movies. Each version of Spider-Man we have had in live-action and animation has had its own unique qualities and abilities. Each version of Peter Parker has been done greatly in each of the 3 versions we have had.

I truly hope to redo this list in the near future with more live-action and animated Spider-Man movies as I truly hope a Miles Morales live-action movie could be a top 3 Spider-Man movie easily.
