What I Liked

1. I’m glad that “pod-racing” or just racing in general is still a huge betting sport on Tatooine. While Hunter and Echo are on a mission, Wrecker and Tech, as well as Omega go with Sid to Tatooine to check in on her new racer, a droid called Tao.

2. Tech. Outsmarting a droid in the race. The logical choices that the droid, Tao, was making were simply the wrong choices. Tech, being the smartest person in 99.9% of rooms, uses the unfinished track to his advantage because while it’s the most dangerous, it’s also the shortest.

3. The “Villain” of the episode, speaks to Sid and the team about winning, and how a deal is a deal. Sid walks out of the room and the villain speaks to the three members of the Bad Batch about Sid, and how loyalty is not always given back by Sid. I want to know more about Sid’s dark past.

What I Disliked

1. Tao, the droid. It reminded me of the droid that was the companion to Lando in the Solo movie. It was annoying. I feel like Tao was simply there to be a “disaster”.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would simply be the race that Tech enters to save Sid. It’s so much like The Phantom Menace pod-racing. I love that Tech is getting multiple episodes to showcase his skills, and to get some huge character development.

Standout Character

Tech, Once again, huge character development. Outsmarting a droid, typically droids are the smartest in the galaxy, Tech showed that they are not always correct.

Verdict

Overall a very quick episode. This episode was very reminiscent of The Phantom Menace with the racing. Tech was in this case the “Anakin” of the episode. A newby to racing. I want to know more about Sid’s dark past.
