What I Liked

1. I do like how Omega is still sad about Echo leaving. I thought they might have skipped over this missing link in the chain that is The Bad Batch but they are actually acknowledging it, which is a massive plus for the entire episode.

2. The Batch is having to walk to a spaceport after their ship got stolen, while walking through a narrow passage, they have to begin running because of a herd of animals running behind them. They all hold onto a grappling hook but drop the combustible tub and Wrecker has a funny line. Tech tells him he needs to protect is, otherwise it’ll explode and Wrecker tells him “but what about protecting me”, I thought this was hilarious.

3. I do like how the Batch is not falling apart, but not as fluid as they normally are. Without Echo, this first mission is crumbling apart. The team is arguing, the plan has fallen apart, and they just are not in rhythm like they normally are.

What I Disliked

Sid, slowly becoming more of an annoyance than a person that offers jobs. Barely wanted to send a ship to save The Batch. I feel like she could be coming to an end shortly, either The Batch will stop working for her, or her luck will run out.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would be Tech trusting Omega to retrieve the stuff they’ve come on the mission for. Omega falls into the river below and without hesitation, Tech jumps in after her to save her. It’s so great to see how close they’ve all become. They are basically a family.

Standout Character

I’ll give this to Tech. He opened up to Omega and told her truly how he feels which was huge for Tech as he’s always about the mission.

Verdict

Overall, a fun filler episode. While the story was nothing major, the premise of the episode was essentially the fallout from Echo leaving the team. It was an episode that focused on the emotions of two characters which usually we’ll see in the background.
