Rumors have been running rampant since Brec Bassinger (Courtney Whitmore AKA Stargirl) posted a photo on her Instagram account with Ryan Potter (Gar Logan AKA Beast Boy).

What makes matters even MORE interesting is that particular comment there from Curran Walters (Red Hood) with just the “😎😎” emojis, further fuelling the tease.
I’ve been a major fan of Titans since the beginning. Even when the show receives a lot of hate among the community, I’ve always enjoyed it. On the flip side, I’m not a huge fan of Doom Patrol but I can see the appeal.
There are 3 reasons why I think this crossover would be amazing for DC’s TV side.
1. Titans and Doom Patrol are HBO Max shows
As of now, Stargirl is on The CW, circling on a very thin line due to all of the cancelations from The CW in 2022. Both Titans and Doom Patrol are HBO Max shows. All 3 of these shows were once on the flopped DC Universe platform until they were all picked up when the platform failed.
It seems odd that a CW show would cross over with a HBO Max show, it’s never been done before. Then again, The CW hasn’t gone on a canceling spree before either so there’s that. This could mean (take this with a pinch of salt) that Stargirl could be heading to HBO Max after season 3 is over.
If this does happen then I’ll be hugely onboard with that. We know HBO Max has a better budget for their shows compared to The CW. This leads to higher quality, better CGI, and opportunities for bigger and better fights. It’s out there I know compared to the next 2 points but one can dream. I just don’t like the uncertainty hanging over The CW right now.
2. Crossovers…again
The CW was the king of TV crossovers, creating some spectacular moments within the Arrowverse. Once Covid hit, these were put on the back burner due to the pandemic and never really revisited. I guess Crisis on Infinite Earths put the final nail in the coffin due to backlash as well. We did have a crossover at the beginning of The Flash’s season 8, Armageddon which was trash.
If this crossover does happen, it’ll be new, fresh, and exciting. Titans and Doom Patrol are both going into season 4 and we’ve only had these shows crossover once (which now seemingly looks to be non-canon?). By having them crossover properly again with Stargirl and the JSA, the possibilities are endless. There is a small issue considering both the HBO Max shows are R-rated and Stargirl isn’t, we know Stargirl isn’t afraid to go above and beyond with the horror elements.
All I know is you have 3 teams all teaming up together in this instance, it would be so damn entertaining. I do suspect it may only be Beast Boy and maybe 1 or 2 others if it happens (which I’m fine with). However, when you look at what they could create with this type of crossover, it could be phenomenal.
3. Endless possibilities
I have already touched on this briefly but a crossover between 3 different shows could create all sorts of plots, stories, and new villains. We have already seen some of the creative crossovers from The CW such as Crisis on Earth-X, Elseworlds, and even the Green Arrow v The Flash episode.
Even if it’s only Beast Boy that crosses over then it creates new boundaries for the show moving forward (if it’s not to be canceled at the end of season 3). It’ll mean the shows are interconnected. After the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, we see that Stargirl is on a different earth but we know the Crisis story has fallen on itself in the last couple of years.
Titans and Doom Patrol are expected to be released by the end of 2022 as both began filming in February 2022 and have seemingly wrapped up. This doesn’t just mean Beast Boy or other characters cross into Stargirl, it could mean Stargirl could crossover there as well.
It’s interesting to see how this will play out if it does. I’ve written a lot about Stargirl in the last couple of weeks but a part of me wants to see the show go on past season 3. We’ll wait and see, and of course, take this article with a pinch of salt. It’s all just speculation of what I want personally when it comes to this side of the DC shows.
