Superman & Lois “O Mother, Where Art Thou?” Review

Season 1 Episode 10 – Lana reaches out to Lois and Clark when Kyle starts behaving strangely; Jonathan opens up to Jordan; Sarah storms out after accusing her mum of always covering for her dad.

What I Liked

01. A great opening scene to the episode as we find out Morgan Edges true identity. “Tar-Ro” who is not only from Krypton but is also superman’s brother as they share the same mother. He reveals his plans to make earth the new Krypton, and for them to see their mother once again. What intrigued me by this scene is even though Superman was reluctant, I feel like you could kinda see how much he did want to see his mother again.

2. I’m glad the story with Lana and Kyle is now going somewhere because so far they haven’t been able to offer much! Kyle was always sketchy and I never knew what the deal was with his character, but I must say they’re both getting a lot more interesting.

3. The scene between Sarah and Kyle was brutal. There was something he said that just made my body tense up “daddy’s not here anymore, he’s just a screaming corpse” was absolutely harrowing too hear.

4. As Superman’s mother takes on the form of Lana we see such a heartfelt and powerful scene between the pair!

5. Why do all villains have a way of making you feel bad for them? Don’t get me wrong I’m certainly team superman but you also have to appreciate it from Tar-Ro’s perspective. He came to the planet to be safe, only to be hunted and locked away being treated like an animal. You’re bound to have abit of a sour taste in your mouth.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report this week.

Favourite Moment

Oh, my days that final scene was so incredibly intense! After Tar-Ro gives superman one final chance to change his mind, he does not cave and is left with a pretty big army of Kryptonians to stop. While he manages to source his own energy to change everyone back at once, he seems pretty defeated as we see him fall to the ground in the Fortress Of Solitude. The action throughout this scene and the emotion when everyone was brought back was so powerful.

Standout Character

The main guy of the show has to take it this week, Superman! Tyler Hoechlin plays an absolutely outstanding Superman, his performance in every episode impresses me and continues to do so this week!

Verdict

Another amazing episode this week! This series dare I say it may be my favorite series of this year! No episode is a letdown, every episode leaves me wanting more. I can’t fault this episode at all!
