What I Liked

1. At the beginning of the episode, Clark collapses in the kitchen due to visions that cause him to become immobile. I absolutely loved Tyler’s acting here. The way he dropped unable to do anything and you can see the discomfort and pain he’s in, absolutely phenomenal.

2. This is just a subtle one but as Lana and Kyle head to the restaurant to set up Daniel Hart’s mayoral campaign, the current major steps out to greet them both. As the major touches Lana on the arm to lessen the tension obnoxiously, Kyle slowly drops the boxes onto the floor. It’s very subtle and it’s one of those scenes you need to watch but I really liked this.

3. I’m happy to see that Morgan Edge is still in the show. Clark does go to ask for help on what’s causing his issues. I just like the fact he’s still here more than anything. The CW has a habit of using villains then not using them ever again despite a select few such as Reverse-Flash, Malcolm Merlyn, etc.

4. I’m a little bit confused as to whether I like or dislike this scene but I’m edging towards liking it. A hostage situation is happening at an airport, Superman shows up slaps his chest, and nearly wipes him out. My dislike comes to the predictability that he got the same visions again which left him vulnerable. We do learn that Tag Harris is actually one of the supers created by the US military including another 2 which I did like.

5. An interesting twist. Superman finally decides to take Morgan to his fortress in the desert. As Edge puts the crystal in, a new hologram moves forward and it turns out it’s only Superman’s mother. This was definitely unexpected, to say the least. Some phenomenal acting again by Adam Rayner who plays Edge.

6. It’s nice to see Natalie in a much better light this week. She helps Sarah fix her and her dad’s car that’s pretty much a broken mess. Natalie actually manages to make the car’s engine start which is pretty impressive. She’s smiling and laughing whilst she does so with Sarah, also gave her some good advice when it comes to Jordan.

7. I think it was delving into Lana becoming mayor after Daniel dropped out. I absolutely love the fact it was Kyle that pushed for it to happen as well. I’d like to see Lana push to become mayor.

What I Disliked

Chrissy is becoming a nightmare on this show. She brings nothing entertaining and has only annoyed me thus far this season. She’s constantly playing down Lois’ ability at journalism. She does it again questioning Lois’ motives in a case she had a personal connection to. The last time I checked, her company was about to fall into administration if it wasn’t for Lois…

She does also claim she’s Lois’ “partner” then proceeds to grill her over it. I mean, I get it to an extent. But surely you should trust your partner. It doesn’t make sense at all.

Favourite Moment

it seems Doomsday is crawling further up the mines, Superman goes down again in Morgan’s fortress resulting in Edge still having powers. He and Jordan actually go toe to toe for a bit however Morgan does get the upper hand obviously. Almost choking him out he seems hesitant after his mother is screaming at him to stop. After Superman gathers his bearings and just rushes at Morgan, throwing him into a wall and raining down some brutal haymakers. What a scene!

Standout Character

I’m giving it to Clark this week. Purely because of Tyler’s exceptional acting ability all around. In both the visions and pain, plus the way he took down Morgan after seeing him choke Jordan out was just outstanding. I really did enjoy Superman in this episode.

Verdict

An incredible episode this week. Almost flawless. This episode proves again why Superman & Lois will likely never be topped when it comes to The CW shows. Even now after an incredible season 1 the show just keeps getting better and better.
