What I Liked

1. Our first scene shows us a glimpse of Bizarro’s life back on his own planet. Some interesting things to take from this scene as we see a version of Lana who has powers, his encounter with Ally, and how he ended up in the mines of this universe.

2. Gonna take a moment to praise General Hardcastle. Finally, someone said it! While Superman and Sam sometimes had different methods, they always worked together to reach a final result. Anderson absolutely had to be put in his place, doesn’t make any sense at all why would you not want superman on your side? I hope this makes him open his eyes and stop being a prick since his job is now on the line.

3. I really felt the emotion behind Lana’s scene as her children asked if Kyle would ever be coming home. I felt her heartbreak at that moment, the acting from her was incredible, and she managed to still praise Kyle to her kids despite how much she was hurting.

4. I love how this show still remembers to step away from main villains even for a brief moment. Superman can hear everything, it’s unrealistic to suggest Superman is only focusing on one thing at a time. Just for a moment, we see him stop an avalanche from wiping out a small village of people. It’s not relevant to our story, but it’s nice to be reminded that as well as the big bad villain, superman also has other things to do around the world, that’s a lot to carry on your shoulders, and yet he does it without even blinking, what a guy.

5. I hate how much I love Lana and Kyle together in a way. I know myself I could not forgive something like that, yet is it bad that I just don’t want them to split up. Honestly, they have played a big part in this show and have helped make it what it is today.

6. Sam’s character development has been incredible. I did not like him throughout his first appearances on the show, I thought he was very emotionally detached from his family and I don’t respect a person who can be that way, especially towards their kids. But since retiring he really has stepped up, not only as a Father and Grandparent but also as a support for Superman. We’ve seen him on and off throughout this season offering his advice where he can give it, he’s turned out to be a very likable character.

7. As the episode comes to an end, Anderson tells his Squad that Superman is going to be spending some time with his brother, which I’m guessing means we will be seeing a return from Morgan Edge, and honestly I’m all here for it. I still hope he can redeem himself and become somewhat of an Ally for Superman.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report this week.

Favourite Moment

After being set up by Anderson we see Clark, in the exact same situation as we see Bizarro in at the beginning of the episode. This scene was amazing and I’m going to expand on why. Throughout this scene Superman is exposed to Red sun radiation, causing his powers to be completely weakened, yet he still managed to fight off every single one of Anderson’s squad, with barely a struggle. We’ve seen what effect the red sun has on Kryptonians and yet he still found the strength to fight his way through them.

Standout Character

Superman himself takes it this week. Everything from the dialogue to the fight scene, especially in the hallways were phenomenal. Superman himself had to have one of those “hallway” scenes and he definitely did it justice, as both Bizarro and Superman.

Verdict

Another amazing episode this week. Some character development for Bizarro as we learned more of his past, a big change for Superman as we see him get arrested, and a hint that we will be seeing Morgan Edge next episode has got me so excited for next week! This show has not let up since starting, it has remained consistent ever since its first episode and I can’t see it slacking anytime soon. They really have nailed it with this show, the characters, the storylines, the villains, everything.
