I am surprised we haven’t heard a lot from the Star Wars series until now. It’s even more surprising considering we have a release date of June 4th, 2024 which is not far away at all.
Up until today, we’ve had nothing and I was sure this series would be delayed due to the strikes last year but out of the blue, we got our first bit of promotional material. Granted, it’s only a poster with a release date but there’s more to come.
The official trailer will be released tomorrow. Although we’re unsure of the time, we’ll be sure to update our Facebook page with the trailer as soon as it drops. You can follow us by clicking here.
In The Acolyte, an investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Amandla Stenberg). As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems….
The series stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
The Acolyte comes from creator and showrunner Leslye Headland (Russian Doll), who also serves as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy, Simon Emanuel, Jeff F. King, and Jason Micallef. Charmaine DeGraté and Kor Adana are the co-executive producers; Rayne Roberts, Damian Anderson, Rob Bredow, and Eileen Shim are producing.

I think all in all, I’m just excited to have a Star Wars series that isn’t based on the Skywalker era. It’s going to be interesting since the creators will have almost full creative control over the series.
It’ll still follow a story loosely but it’s set well before the events of The Phantom Menace. I’m happy this series is closer than originally anticipated. I can’t wait for another Star Wars TV show on Disney+.
