Season 9 Episode 8 – “A seemingly simple mold inspection at S.T.A.R. Labs leads to unexpected time anomalies; Chester admits a secret to Allegra, which makes things awkward between the two; Khione meets with an old friend of Team Flash.”

What I Liked
1. We begin the episode by seeing a cloaked figure trying to steal something from Star Labs, they manage to get into the weapons vault but ultimately trip a wire, get panicked, and leave through a portal of some type, which makes this interesting is that its set in the year 2123.
2. Barry and Iris, while taking the city inspectors around Star Labs, begin to notice that they are stuck in the Speed Lab. Iris and Barry need to come up with an excuse as to why they are doing that. It seems like they are stuck in the Speed Lab.
3. I do like how the show plants the early reveal that Inspector Tao is “suspicious”. It’s the small details you need to look out for and you’ll see them. Interesting.
4. I also actually really like the way this episode focused on not The Flash per say, but more so Barry being a hero, being a CSI. He realizes who the thief is. Inspector Tao… Barry and Iris ask her to check the wires, and she crumbles under the pressure.
5. Inspector Tao reveals herself to be Lady Chronos. The “universe’s greatest thief” apparently. Not going to lie, pretty cool design for the character, I don’t know much about her but she seemed like a cool villain.
What I Disliked
I like Allegra, I like Chester, I really do, but I don’t need this whole relationship building/the early “I love you” saying this deep into the final season of The Flash. It’s boring, it’s plain, and it’s been done many times.
Favorite Moment
Honestly, my favorite part of the episode was seeing Iris, Barry, and the Inspectors trapped in the Speed Lab. Seeing the time magnet change stuff, and even kill people was interesting.
Standout Character
Honestly, I’ll give this to Barry. It was a toss-up between Barry and Iris but we got to see just how much of a hero Barry is and how smart he actually is as an investigator.
Verdict
Although, not the best episode, this episode was still better than the last couple of The Flash episodes. While the main storyline was cool with the introduction to a character from the year 2123, the Allegra/Chester storyline was weak.
