Guardians of the Galaxy has become quite the name within the Marvel Cinematic Universe fandom, whether that is positive or negative, they are always talked about. People seem to enjoy and hate the movies.
The first Guardians movie debuted in 2014 and made $773.3 million at the box office. Three years later in 2017 Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 was released, making a staggering $869 million at the box office. After some cameos in Infinity War and Endgame and a tiny cameo in Thor Love and Thunder, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 was released and has already made $289.3 million at the box office.
The actual question is, in what order to I rank them from worst to best?
3. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2
Now this might be controversial but this is perhaps my worst Guardians movie. This is a forgettable movie to the point in any Marvel Cinematic Universe rewatch, I hate getting to this movie. I find the story boring, the villain is awful, and the overall music of the movie severely lets it down.
2. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 1
This was a perfect movie not in the sense that it should be a #1 but with the characters in this group, this was an ideal movie to introduce them in. The hilarious tone of the movie made it absolutely fantastic whereas the story was incredible but intense at times. What truly made this movie was the choice of songs throughout. Honestly, this might have the best songs in all of Marvel.
1. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3
My favorite Guardians film. Everything about this movie was perfect. The story was incredible and so immensely emotional that it truly delivered some incredible character development to every single member of the Guardians as well as the surrounding world-building. While the High Evolutionary was a tad boring, seeing what he did to Rocket was brutal. Adam Warlock played by Will Poulter was such a fine addition to the franchise and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole. The music choice was spot on.
