What I Liked

1. I do like how after all these years, the astromech that Luke Skywalker nearly bought instead of R2D2 is finally getting an adventure of his own.

2. We’re finally seeing Mandalore. The destruction that the Empire has caused on this once beautiful planet is insane. Ground is destroyed, and the skies are thunder and lightning. The magnetic field is disturbed so once you land there is no calling for help.

3. Din gets attacked by three creatures when he’s looking over a city underground, he uses the dark saber to absolutely destroyed them. Even though the saber is still heavy, I can’t imagine it being long before he’s fluent in using it.

4. A jump scare, I won’t lie, that got me. Din finds an old worn-out Mandalorian helmet when he’s captured by a droid-looking creature. It takes Din to it’s lair and we see that it’s a smaller creature operating it.

5. Grogu trying to free Din with the Force. He fails and Din tells him to go to Bo-Katan. Grogu begins running back to the ship and he even uses the Force to make his escape, going to Bo-Katan and getting help. What a little legend.

6. Bo-Katan truly is an incredible fighter, tactician, and badass. She knew creatures were above her so she pushed Grogu out of the way and absolutely destroyed the creatures with ease. Seeing her in live-action in a live-action Mandalore is such a great thing.

7. Din finally gets to the waters of Mandalore, and he begins his creed while walking into the waters, he gets dragged underneath so Bo-Katan jumps in to find him and save him, once again. While flying back up with Din in her arms, Bo-Katan sees the mythosaur.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would simply be seeing a live-action Bo-Katan on a live-action Mandalore wielding a dark saber. 5 years ago I would never have imagined that I would be seeing this. It’s truly incredible.

Standout Character

Stand out character in this episode would be Bo-Katan without a doubt. She came in, did her business, destroyed creatures, and saved Din a few times. She was truly badass.

Verdict

A fantastic episode set on Mandalore. The action was fantastic but what was even better was the way of the Mandalorian, seeing Din take up the creed to finally get his redemption was amazing, seeing Bo-Katan wield the dark saber was perfect.
