The Mandalorian has hit the rumor mill as of late with the upcoming season 4 and some potential changes.
According to Jeff Sneider, the rework that is happening is that the fourth season of the Mandalorian series is currently being reworked into a movie. He said “The odds are in its favor” instead of a fourth season.
“A couple of months ago I shot this one down, that there were rumors that season four of The Mandalorian could be turned into a movie, I think at the time I didn’t think that was necessarily the case. However, that is now what I am starting to hear. That the odds are in that projects favour, whatever season four of The Mandalorian turns out to be, whoever is in it, what it turns out, whatever shape it takes, it is looking like that could be the next Star Wars movie and that might be the thing that’s announced before the end of the year.”
He also claimed that the development may have been influenced by the disruption of the writer’s and actors’ strikes earlier this year. In addition to that, he also stated that this would come out before Daisy Ridley’s Star Wars movie focused on Rey.
For me, this would be a major downgrade. It would also confuse a lot of casual fans. They would go into this film and be confused about what has happened if they have not watched the series. I mean, the show has slipped in viewership on the streaming service but I wouldn’t go changing the formula.
I hate to say it but with how it’s going, it looks like Pedro will be done with the role soon, we’ve seen him unmasked in the show 3 times, once in season 1 and twice in season 2, The Mandalorian kept his face covered in the third season and Pedro even admitted it was mainly a voice-over gig for him. It just seems like he wants to put other projects first.
They did a story within the seasons that he could take off his helmet and still be a Mandalorian, as seen with Bo-Katan, it makes you question why they didn’t allow this to come to light in the show. Why was Pedro always masked up?
