The Mandalorian – The Armorer Theory

Over the past 3 seasons of The Mandalorian, the Armorer has always remained secretive. She is always in the background, always seems to be the “voice of Mandalore” and hasn’t truly revealed anything about herself to Din.

The Armorer is a religious leader of the cult-like group “Children of the Watch”. Nothing is known about her, but a theory has recently come to light that the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.

The theory suggests that The Armorer has a strong connection to the Clone Wars and a very dangerous character, Darth Maul. The theory also suggests that she is leading a very different life now to pay for the crimes and failures while working alongside Maul.

Rook Kast was working for Maul from the beginning, she lead Maul’s super Commando’s and even freed him from the prison that Sidious trapped him in. She was a key figure in Maul’s power and reign across the galaxy and especially Mandalore.

When the Galactic Republic brought war to Mandalore, Kast fought hard against Ahsoka and the Clones, and also Bo-Katan. Kast fought to protect and preserve the power she had as well as Maul. The theory suggests that Kast and the Armorer are one and the same.

This theory is backed up by a few things. Firstly, the horned helmet, a staple in what Maul’s army looks and designs, but more recently, another Mandalorian in the last episode was wearing similar protection as to Maul’s army, with markings that potentially match Maul himself.

Kast failed Mandalor, whether she believes she did or not, she failed. She allowed Maul to take control, and she allowed people like Gar Saxon to be used as pawns for the Empire, and that weakened Mandalore.

As for her crimes, going back to the roots of Mandalore and wearing the helmet 24/7 could be her way of atoning for her failure.

We know something very suspicious is going on with the Armorer, this could be that, or could she be setting up the Mandalorians for another vicious war against each other?

Revealing the Armorer as Kast would be a perfect villain for Bo-Katan, as they are old nemesis.

What do you think about the Armorer?
