Season 1 Episode 6 “The Mandalorian joins a crew of mercenaries on a dangerous mission.”
What I Liked?
1. The Mando joins a crew, a couple of his former crew and a couple of new guys and a droid on a mission to free a prisoner from a New Republic prison ship. We get hints at a previous job in which it truly showed how badass The Mando actually is but we don’t get the details.
2. The Mando is one of the shooters in the crew so the droid is the pilot on this mission which The Mando hates. The crew is searching The Mando’s ship which leads to a scuffle between the “muscle” of the crew and The Mando which reveals baby Yoda which was hidden.
3. The crew infiltrate the prison ship, they run into a mouse droid to which one of the crew shoots and alerts the droid guards which gives us a great Mando scene in which he takes down about 7 droids.
4. We come to learn who the prison is, the brother of one of The Mando’s former crew which The Mando left behind. The crew then turn on Mando and locked him in the cell.
5. The droid who is piloting the Mando’s ship see’s baby Yoda so he goes to find him and when he does he points a gun at the baby, the baby Yoda then tries to use the force until The Mando shoots the droid with baby Yoda thinking he did it.
6. The Mando places the tracker on the prisoner then takes him back to get his credits. The Mando leaves then his former crew mate decides to try to kill him which The Mando figures out before he arrives so he places the tracker there on purpose to make the X-Wings destroy the ship.
What I Disliked?
The droid pilot was a insane pilot who made the ship go upside down causing the crew mate who was holding the baby Yoda to drop him on his face.
Favourite Moment
The Mando figures out a way to break out of the cell he’s trapped in by using his zip line wire to pull a droid to the door and uses his arm to open the door. The Mando then hunts the crew and locks them in the cell with no more guards so their essentially stuck.
Standout Character
Not a hard choice… The Mando gets this vote simply because we find out how truly smart he is by figuring out that the crew will eventually try to kill him once he returns the prisoner and he manages to lock up 3 of the crew.
The Verdict
The series has not disappointed me yet. This episode was no different by showcasing The Mando’s skills and abilities. We got hints of The Mando’s backstory in a mission which I want to know more.
