So over the course of the third season, many Mandalorian fans have truly pushed the narrative of The Armorer being “suspicious”, and working with Moff Gideon in some way, shape, or form. I agree, she is suspicious, she has been since the first season when you truly think about it.
Chapter 23 of The Mandalorian was titled “The Spies” and the episode began with Elia Kane reporting The Mandalorians coming together to Moff Gideon, she is 100% a spy, but the title doesn’t match that, if it was only her, the title would be “The Spy”, who could the other spies be? It is plural, meaning 2 or more spies.
I have a theory on a few people, but it could be a very interesting twist.
The Armorer
I think this is a universally agreed answer, The Armorer is a spy working for Moff Gideon. Everything she has done has been a 180 of her previous episodes. Firstly, she wants Din to go to Mandalore and get the water to reclaim his creed, then completely fine with Bo removing her helmet to “reunite Mandalore”.
Secondly, Told every Mandalorian that Mandalore was poisoned. Did she do this on purpose to keep Mandalorians away from Mandalore to allow Moff Gideon to use it as a stronghold? She then told Bo to go and get every Mandalorian into one place, knowing she’d want to return to Mandalore.
She also left the Mandalorians on Mandalore to take the “sick” Mandalorians back to the main ship. As soon as she left, Bo, Din, and the rest got attacked. Just a whole lot of red flags with The Armorer.
But I have to say, this could be the style of the season, this could be a situation where the show wants you to believe one thing, and boom, a spy is someone else. It’s very likely that she is the spy though.
Axe Woves
My personal guess is Axe Woves. Axe Woves has a unique situation where while he did leave the Mandalorians to go get help while they got attacked, I think he’s a spy. I think the show is having us believe The Armorer is the spy when in reality, Axe Woves and his Mandalorians have sold out for credits.
As Koska Reeves stated the right amount of credits, they are good or bad. Moff Gideon is obviously rich. He would have enough credits to give to Axe and his Mandalorians. I personally wouldn’t be mad if Axe is a spy.
Koska Reeves
I didn’t expect Koska Reeves initially until I saw a TikTok explaining the reasons why they believe she is the spy. Her stages throughout the show gives some solid reasons as to why. Firstly, her first appearance made you believe she was a Jedi because of how she was in a black robe and then disappeared within the blink of an eye.
Secondly, back in season two, Grogu felt something was off when Koska was staring at him eating the squid. Thirdly, she takes the prince and tells him that we are honorable for the right price.
When Din and Grogu offered to go with Bo to Mandalore, she immediately offered as well, not even a second later. There was a scene where the Mandalorians got ambushed and trapped, while Din and 2 other Mandalorians were separated and attacked, all Mandalorians started firing the door, while she stood still, motionless.
It’s an “out there theory” but it’s very plausible and does make you think is she the one who allowed Moff Gideon to get the drop on Din?
The Mandalorian Pirates
Even with the rumor of Mandalore being poisoned, and Moff Gideon having ships and a base on Mandalore, these pirates to my knowledge, did not tell Bo-Katan and the rest about them.
They have survived on a pirate ship on the surface of Mandalore for god knows how long. You are telling me they wouldn’t take help from Moff Gideon for food, armor, and more? All those years and nothing? Even after initially being left?
This is a stab at a theory but everything about them is just a red flag, knowing where they need to go, “surviving” all the years with little to nothing. It’s just very suspicious of them.
Who do you think the spies are?
