A brand new look at the Joker sequel starring Joaquin Phoenix has been released. Titled “Joker: Folie A Deux” the film gives us a glimpse into the aftermath of the previous Joker movie and teases what’s to come in the follow-up to 2019’s Academy Award-winning “Joker”.
Joining Joaquin Phoenix in the movie is Lady Gaga, who we see is a prominent part of this trailer while Arthur Fleck (Phoenix) is finding himself being considered a martyr and has endured the trial of the century.
Warner Bros. has teased that in Joker: Folie A Deux “Arthur Fleck is institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. It is there where he finds true love and the “music that’s always been inside him,”
The reference of the title is the term for an identical or similar mental disorder impacting two or more people, usually members of the same family.
Director Todd Phillips first teased the film way back in December of 2022 in an Instagram post of Phoenix in character. On Valentine’s Day 2023 shared the first-look at Lady Gaga in character with Phoneix with the first trailer premiering in April.
Joker: Folie À Deux will be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures in theaters nationwide on Oct. 4, 2024.
