What I Liked

1. The episode begins immediately seeing Oz thrive in his new “empire”. Creating bliss as fast as he can while Victor is a delivery boy. The operation is up and running and seeing how easily Oz has created this has been incredible. This show has truly made Penguin shine in a new light.

2. Sofia and Sal break into Oz’s place to find some answers about where Oz could be. They search the place looking for answers, they find a photo but don’t realize that the mother is still alive. Sofia, however, sees a photo of Oz’s girl.

3. As someone who has been personally affected by the situation with Oz and his mother, I always tend to take note of these scenes more as I can relate to them. This scene between Oz and his mother about Oz helping to kill her before her mind goes was absolutely heartbreaking.

4. Sofia continues to grow into this fascinating, unique, crazy, type of villain. Every time she comes on screen whether that’s just a normal talking scene, a crazy killing scene, or anything else, she just captivates the screen. Truly great.

5. The writing in this show is phenomenal. The speech Oz gave to the leaders of the different factions from within the city was absolutely motivating and excellent. He admitted out loud that he stole the drugs from Sofia, he killed Alberto, and he does have a code.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report this week.

Favorite Moment

My favorite moment would be Victor taking care of an issue that would become a problem for him and Oz. Victor knew Oz was busy so he decided to handle it himself. Victor decides to finally take that step into that life fully. While he’s been running drugs and stuff for Oz, this is the first time he’s killed someone.

Standout Character

Victor is taking this one. Seeing him fully embrace this life by committing his first murder was amazing.

Verdict

Overall, a solid episode that progressed the rise of Oz. Seeing everything fall into place in this episode is leading to something brutal in the next episode. Victor taking the steps to fully commit to this “gangster” lifestyle was amazing.
