The Transformers Movies – Ranked

Recently with the release of Transformers One, I have been going through a rewatch of the entire franchise of Transformers. Just a little over four years ago, I wrote an article that ranked the whole movie franchise.

So with the recent addition to the franchise, I think it’s time to rank them all again and see if the list changes.

8. Revenge of the Fallen

Revenge of the fallen remains in the “bottom” spot. While the movie is not overly bad per se, the movie doesn’t live up to the reputation that the other movies have. I feel that whenever I watch through the franchise, Revenge of the Fallen is the movie where I least care.

7. The Last Knight

The Last Knight only JUST beats out Revenge of the Fallen. While The Last Knight was seemingly the last movie before the “reboot” movies, I still enjoy this movie. The action, the story, and the Transformers themselves were all actually decent.

6. Age of Extinction

I thought Age of Extinction would be higher up on the list but as of the rewatch, it isn’t and honestly, I’m sad about this but ultimately this is where it belongs. I was an advocate of the Mark Wahlberg films but I honestly just love the original movies more.

5. Bumblebee

Bumblebee is a fantastic movie. The heart of that film was the connection between Bee and Charlie. The story was great and the tease of the war on Cybertron at the beginning of the movie was fantastic. Bringing those old Transformers designs into live-action was such a great choice.

4. Transformers

The original movie. This movie has continued to live up to the hype. I see people still talking about this movie to this day from the story, the characters, the Transformers, and the CGI and visual effects. The movie is solid and has some of the better action in the franchise.

3. Dark of the Moon

Dark of the Moon was my favorite movie of the franchise for the longest time. I loved this movie. From the action in the fight scenes to the war in Chicago. This war delivered everything I wanted it to have. This is what started my hopes for a live-action war on Cybertron movie.

2. Rise of the Beasts

Rise of the Beasts was the latest live-action movie in the franchise. This was such a great movie and honestly, could have been number 1 had Transformers One not been as great as it was. Rise of the Beasts delivered some amazing things including a tease of G.I Joe.

1. Transformers One

Transformers One was a movie that sort of teased a war on Cybertron movie, although this was in animation. Transformers One delivered a unique perspective of life on Cybertron before it’s destruction and offered a unique look at the friendship of Orion Pax and D-16 long before what we saw in live-action.
