Top 10 Wishlist for GTA 6

The hype for GTA 6 is fully underway after Rockstar dropped the first trailer for the game. We have very few details but we do know it’ll be released at some stage in 2025. There’s a lot of time for speculation plus marketing from Rockstar will continue as the months go by with new trailers, photos, posters, etc.

It’s an exciting time for GTA fans and we couldn’t be more excited. By the time this releases, GTA 5 will have survived 12 years across 3 console generations. It’s a feat in and of itself. We know the game’s a while away but we want to discuss the top 10 things we’d love to see in the game.

These are of no particular importance in terms of ranking. We could go on forever but these are the biggest ones we want to see.

1. Weight system

San Andreas had this and it was done very well. The fact you could eat a lot of food and make yourself hugely overweight. Didn’t eat and then you’d lose weight and become too skinny. You could also go to the gym and get ripped as well. I think this feature needs to make a return. I’ve seen a lot of comments from people for years asking for this mechanic. It was so satisfying getting the right weight and then hitting the gym. I’d love for this or something similar to make a comeback in GTA 6.

2. Creative ways to kill

Creative ways to kill people are a must. Rockstar Games has added amazing ways to kill people in Red Dead Redemption so it’s only right they add them to GTA 6, especially with them introducing the Everglades into the game. They also add animals like alligators into the mix should mean we can use them to get rid of bodies or whatever else throughout the game. Mafia 3 had it and so did Red Dead.

3. Smarter police

I think we all want smarter police in the game. In GTA V it was so easy to get rid of the police just by staying outside of the cone they had or just hiding behind a building. I think GTA 6 should make them smarter by upgrading them a ton, making them more ruthless, and not just pulling out their weapons for a simple crime.

4. A more expansive single-player experience

Single-player in GTA 5 was largely neglected. Online became increasingly expansive as the years went on but not much of this was passed over to single-player. I think single-player definitely needs an uplift as I know quite a few people who enjoy the story mode and don’t bother with online too much. After all, when we had San Andreas, we never had online so it would be nice to ensure this is kept updated through the game’s lifespan. Also, give us DLC content for the story itself as time goes by.

5. An online private “open” lobby on launch

This is a feature that has been added since. You can now go into a private lobby with just friends and have access to all of the content available in public lobbies. I want this to be added on launch. I’ve played enough GTA 5 public lobbies and I do not have faith in the community to not be toxic as hilarious as it is. I want to be able to enjoy the experience, especially at the beginning with my friends. I think since this feature was included, the only time I was ever in a public lobby was for 30 seconds when I loaded in.

6. Mini games

GTA V had a small range of mini-games you could play. It had darts, arm wrestling, gambling, tennis, golf, and hunting but they left out major mini-games from previous games. GTA 4 you had bowling, San Andreas you had snooker, I feel like GTA V dropped the ball with those so GTA 6 needs to have them and more.

7. More heists that actually matter

For me, GTA 6 needs heists that matter, I feel like the first heist you do in GTA V is the only true one that matters within that story. The rest of the heists in the GTA V story are meaningless. I hope we get some in GTA 6 that actually matter like there is a solid enough reason to pull off a heist.

8. More grounded protagonists

People loved the trio we got in 5 and that’s fair. Personally, I wasn’t a huge fan and I felt like the story in 5 was one of the weaker stories when you compare Vice City, San Andreas, and even 4 in comparison. I want the story to be more grounded and not completely over the top. I mean again, this is just my own opinion but the campaign bordered with Saints Row and how stupid it got at times. I enjoyed the story don’t get me wrong, I thought it was good but I just think the protagonists can be better and more relatable.

9. Fight styles

I won’t lie, the fight styles on GTA V were below average. It was the same moves over and over. It was boring, bland, and quite frankly, broke. In San Andreas, you could learn moves and use different fight styles from normal to boxing, to karate. It was a wide range for the time. For it’s time, it was ahead of its time. I hope we have this system again or something similar.

10. Realistic driving mode including UI speedometer

I see memes all of the time where people just drive like normal civilians. Why not give us a mode that we can switch on and off at our heart’s content? Part of this mode could give us access to the indicators, fuelling the vehicle, obeying speed laws and even giving us an actual speedometer onscreen (Mafia 2 had this). Obviously, this would just be for fun and not an actual main mechanic but it would be nice to have it as an option.
