It’s no secret that we’ve spoken about who we’d like to see Jermaine Rivers portray in live-action form, he’s a fantastic actor and could nail every single character he wanted to. While we’d love to see him on the big screen, there are 5 characters we could see him portray.
1. John Stewart Green Lantern
The main character we like to see Jermaine portray is John Stewart Green Lantern, Jermaine absolutely loves this character, you could tell by his past tweets just how much he wants to portray and showcase this character in live-action form, he has so much in common with this character and has even said it is time for John to be the face.
2. Steel
This is an obscure character, one which has always been in the background, especially to someone like Clark Kent/Superman. Steel is an underrated character which Jermaine could skyrocket in popularity if he was to debut in live-action form, especially in a movie like Black Adam or Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Steel would fit into either one of these movies.
3. Black Lightning
Black Lightning is a great character, he’s part of the Outsiders and easily is one of the better-underrated characters. He has a unique set of powers which are great, once again, these powers and character could fit into Shazam! Fury of the Gods, his dynamic with Zachary Levi’s Shazam could be perfect and Jermaine could easily match Zachary’s energy.
4. Firestorm (Jason Rusch)
We’ve seen the Ronnie version of Firestorm in The CW’s show, The Flash, but what about Jason Rusch? The powers are largely the same, and Firestorm is a character that deserves more love than he’s had. Now, looking at the picture below, imagine Jermaine as Jason and then Christian Nevaro as Blue Beetle in a movie?! Just take my damn money.
5. Bronze Tiger
Another character that’s been in The CW, however this time it’s Arrow. Michael Jai White portrayed a brilliant Bronze Tiger but if we’re talking a recast here then it’s just another role that Jermaine could walk into and make his own. Bronze Tiger is another character I feel deserves a lot of love from executives, and if in the unlikely event Bronze Tiger was to be given a show or movie – then Jermaine should be right at the front to get that call.
This list includes some of the most underrated characters in DC lore, any one of these characters could be owned by Jermaine, he would absolutely smash the roles of these characters, and give them a voice in live-action form, which is an important role in this day and age.
You can catch Jermaine in upcoming projects like Freedom’s Path, season 3 episode 2 of TALES on BET as Dwayne. As mentioned previously, any one of these characters could fit into any DC movie, Black Adam especially with the Justice Society being involved in the movie, and some characters could have so much energy with Zachary Levi’s Shazam in Fury of the Gods.
Black Adam and Shazam! Fury of the gods are both filming now so this is the perfect opportunity to debut one of these characters in a live-action movie.
