Justice League Dark: Apokolips War is an animated film from DC. It’s dark, brutal, bloody, and is filled with death and destruction from Darkseid. I love the film, I love all the animated films but that one is near the top of the list for me personally.
Now, this list will be the top 5 deaths in my opinion.
5. John Stewart
John had a brutal death. John was badly injured on Oa, to the point where this man had to crawl towards the Green Lantern battery to charge his ring. If you know the Lanterns, you know it takes a lot of willpower and fighting to drain the power so you can only imagine what he went through. While crawling, he was incinerated by the power battery explosion, and molten magma was teleported into Oa’s orbit by Batman.
4. Aquaman
Aquaman was killed by Darkseid. We know Aquaman as this tough character who can pretty much battle anyone even Superman. Aquaman had a brutal death, but it was quick. I mean very quickly. We saw his death at the hands of Darkseid when he cut him in half.
3. Lois Lane
Lois had a very sad but powerful death. While trapped in Lex’s tower, it was being overrun by paradooms. Lois ultimately made the ultimate sacrifice and decided to blow the tower up to kill the paradooms and in turn, she caused the deaths of Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn, and King Shark, should also be mentioned that Lex was in this tower but he died off-screen.
2. Cyborg
In a similar situation to Lois, Cyborg made the ultimate decision to sacrifice himself. Darkseid had been using his technology and kept the mind of Cyborg alive, basically using him and torturing him. Cyborg decided to destroy the boom tube causing his death and the deaths of 2 million paradooms, Trigon and Darkseid.
Honorable mentions are purely everyone else who died. Most were eaten alive and ripped in half, some were blown up. Damian Wayne has been lasered to death although he was brought back to life. Many heroes were stabbed or shot.
1. Shazam
Shazam takes my number one spot simply because of what he went through and knowing he was a kid at heart and he had to make that life-ending decision makes it even worse. Simply put, Shazam was attacked by Paradooms, he had his face slashed causing him to lose an eye. They also tore a leg off. Flash forward to his death, while on a mission with Superboy and Steel, Shazam makes the decision to kill a bunch of paradooms by causing a huge explosion but saying “Shazam!”.
