Top 5 Features We Would Love To See In Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

After a tremendous launch for Jedi: Fallen Order, it was clear from the getgo that EA and Respawn would develop a sequel, giving us more to Cal Kestis’ (Cameron Monaghan) story. We pick up after his altercation with Vader and his attempt to restore the Jedi order.

Now the sequel is announced with a trailer. We look ahead at the top 5 features we want to see in the game to make it even better than the first.

Before we begin, if you did miss the trailer, we have you covered;

1. Fast travel

This one is a given. The map is truly horrible to look at in the original. There were times, especially on Kashyyk that you’d wander so far in, that it’ll take you longer to return back to the ship. Obviously, a choice to change the map from the hologram to a 2D map will help.

2. Customize the type of lightsaber

Whilst added customization options will be a given in the upcoming sequel. I feel like you should be able to alter the type of saber you have. In the original game, we technically had 3 types.

  • Original
  • Double blade
  • Split/dual saber

You should be able to alter the type to make it either of those types, even adding a proper dual saber type (Ahsoka, Starkiller) or a cross-type (Kylo Ren). This will add more to the game, allowing the player to use the saber how they see fit.

Oh, a quick side point – stop turning my damn lightsaber off 2 seconds after igniting it. Sometimes I just like to stare in awe after I’ve spent 15 minutes building the saber. It only happens once you unlock all of the color crystals.

3. Use force powers in combat without a stamina bar

Now that Cal has restored his force powers, you should be able to utilize some of these powers in the middle of combat without a stamina bar. Being able to combo more effectively would be a nice touch. After all, we didn’t see Anakin or Kenobi become drained after using a force push 3 times, do we? You can add upgrades in other departments such as a more powerful push, quicker, and more.

4. Better clothing styles and options

It’s disappointing that the only good style for Cal was added with the DLC by giving him the Inquisitor outfit. The style of Cal was alright in the early game as it adds to his “scrap” type character, but as the game progresses and Cal becomes more skilled, we should be able to change his clothes. We should be able to add Jedi robes, or a suit, or anything other than the stuff we already got.

5. RPG elements

We know how the story goes within this time period for Star Wars, but we should be allowed to make some choices when it comes to the story. It allows the player to feel more in control of where Cal is going. The Force Unleashed games had these options within the game and it just made you feel more connected to the story. I don’t mind when the story is linear but adding options and choices would be a lovely touch to the game itself.

There we have it, folks, that’s just our top 5. Is there anything we haven’t included in the list that you would love to see? Let us know down in the comments below.
