Today, I want to take a look at each of the upcoming Marvel Disney+ shows and rank them based on how excited I am for that particular show. There is a fair few shows on the way so I’ll provide you the list I’ll be looking at and give a 1-10 rating based on how much I’m looking forward to it.
- Loki (season 2) – October 6th, 2023
- Echo – November 29th, 2023
- Ironheart – Fall 2023
- Agatha: Coven of Chaos – Winter 2023/2024
- What If…? (season 2) – Early 2024
- Daredevil: Born Again – Spring 2024
1. Loki (season 2)
I can’t wait for the second season of Loki. The first season was a show spectacle, and Tom Hiddleston is an absolute gem. I loved the aspect of the TVA and what it brought to the show, I was intrigued from the moment it was introduced into the first episode. The second season set up Kang in the best way possible with the effects of his death changing everything within the TVA. It’s going to be interesting. We should be expecting a trailer or so very soon.
Excitement – 10/10
2. Echo
I’ll be honest, I am struggling to care about this show. It will follow Maya from the events of the Hawkeye show but Echo never really stood out for me. I thought the cast was great and the character was okay but it’s not enough to care for a full-blown show. As always though, I am absolutely willing to give this show a shot just like I do with any others and I hope I look back on this and think “Well, you’re a moron”.
Excitement – 3/10
Ironheart
I’m probably in the minority but I am super hyped for Ironheart. I thought Dominique Thorne nailed it in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. We know after that film she was sent home without the suit she created with the help of Wakanda tech and Shuri, so it’s likely she will jump on that ability and build a brand new case. I know she’ll never reach the heights Iron Man did but I think she’ll do well within the universe and I can’t wait to see her in action again.
Excitement – 10/10
Agatha: Coven of Chaos
Now, bear with me here – when I watched WandaVision, I never stopped for a single second and thought “Ooo, Agatha definitely deserves a standalone series”, because I didn’t, once. I did really like Agatha in WandaVision but this isn’t something I really care for. We still don’t know if it’s a prequel or a sequel. A sequel would be better as we know how it turns out if were to be a prequel. News is still scarce but Kathryn Hahn is set to reprise her role. At this moment in time, I don’t really care for this.
Excitement – 2/10
What If…? (season 2)
The premise surrounding the what-if aspect has always intrigued me. I still believe that Star Wars would fare much better with this series but it’s still interesting nonetheless. I liked the way they went with it, each episode was different but it all interconnected through Ultron just destroying everything and everyone. We know there was a missing episode in the first season so we’ll likely see that in the second season with Tony and Gamora. I am looking forward to this to be fair.
Excitement – 9/10
Daredevil: Born Again
Here comes perhaps the most controversial one on this list. I am worried about this. Netflix did a phenomenal job with the series; as always, Charlie Cox embodies Daredevil in every way. I’m just worried about how they’re going to do the story. We’ve had Charlie established on the Netflix side with his own side characters and so on. We know it’s a soft reboot but I don’t know – I’m excited but I’m just very nervous for this show. Disney will either smash it out of the park and make the Netflix version look bad in comparison or they’ll show that Netflix was better suited to handling the character. I can’t see an in-between here.
