Venom: Let There Be Carnage Looks Absolutely Fantastic

It feels like such a long time ago that the first Venom’s trailer released to such a heated reception. It’s safe to say it was hated.

I loved the movie and I couldn’t have been happier when I learned that Sony announced we would be receiving a sequel.

Fast forward two years to 2020, and it looked all set to go, but like many movies, it was pushed back to due to the COVID pandemic.

It then dragged on and we still had no trailer, so my interest and hype in the film died down quite a bit. That was until the first trailer dropped, and then the second trailer dropped. My excitement peaked.

If you haven’t watched the new trailer you can watch it below;

There is so much to love in just a couple of minutes. Let’s not start with the obvious, but let’s talk about Eddie and Venom’s relationship.

It just looks brilliant, and although some don’t like it, the humour aspect of it is hilarious. Especially when Venom straight up headbutts Eddie twice.

Or even the scene where Venom does a Hulk in Endgame, but is literally ready to fight because Eddie promises he can eat people, it’s actually class.

Now, let’s look at the obvious. Woody Harrelson is perfect for the role. He brings that terrifying but intriguing aspect to the character, which was definitely needed for a character like Carnage.

One of the things I was worried for was the actual Symbiote itself. I was worried that they could possibly ruin Carnage, or perhaps undersell the brutality of him. They never. They got the look perfect, and frightening.

This truly opens the doors for a massive full blown Symbiote universe. We got a tease for Scream, and now they can go down so many different routes.

It’s one of the reasons why I’d love see Tom be apart of the Sony universe as well as the MCU. It would bring so much to both characters on the big screen to see them come together.

Venom and Spider-Man are huge parts of each other’s history, so it would make sense to bring them together at some point down the line.

Overall, because of the trailer, I think Let There Be Carnage may be my most anticipated movie of the year, and I believe it just may take the crown at the end.

What are your thoughts on the trailers so far?
