WandaVision “We Interrupt This Program” Review

Season 1 Episode 4 – Monica Rambeau, tasked with a special assignment regarding sentient weapons, goes missing.

What I Liked

1. We finally have some form of reference to end game as we see Geraldine’s (or as we now know her as Monica) past when she returned from being “vanished”. Her mother had died within the 5 years she’d been gone, and of course she had no recollection.

2. Although we didn’t expect to see it yet, we are already getting a look into who sword are and how Monica was part of it.

3. We see Agent Jimmy Woo lead Monica to a street known as Westview as they discuss the entire town who are currently missing. The team have not been able to enter the town as it “will not let them”. However, for some reason, Monica is able to.

4. Sword bring in Darcy Lewis to help investigate what is going on in Westview. She picks up frequencies and manages to pull up on screen everything that is happening. However, they are watching it as a 1950’s sitcom. They work together to identify all of those “missing”. This of course included Vision, who to their knowledge, is dead.

5. We are shown in this episode how all of the strange occurrences with Sword happened. The helicopter, the radio, the agent who came out from the sewers, and it really sheds a different light from what we expected.

6. The end of the episode was quite a revelation, as we now find out Wanda is behind everything that has been happening. As she realises “Geraldine” is in fact an outsider, she tells her she does not belong there and sends her back. As Monica returns back to reality, she tells Jimmy it was all Wanda.

What I Disliked

Nothing to report this week.

Favourite Moment

When Darcy realises the previous episodes are actually happening just not in their reality, it answers a lot of questions as to how to premise of the show is set.

Standout Character

This weeks episode is going out to a new member of the cast, Darcy Lewis. She was the one who figured everything out, and she brought a bit of humour to our screens even in very intense moments.

Verdict

We found out so much in this episode, Sword is actually there to help, Wanda is behind everything, and the entire town they are living within reality are declared as missing. This was the best episode yet for me.
