Rumours are everywhere, as are castings currently. Jamie Foxx is reportedly in talks to return as Electro. Tobey Maguire is also rumoured to play Spider-Man once again in the Doctor Strange sequel albeit take this once with a huge pinch of salt.
Now, the animated Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse was released back in 2018 and earned a solid $375,540,831 which is incredible for an animated movie.
When you look at the movie potentially being live-action, bringing all 3 of our Spider-Man back together again, including Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland, it just makes for an incredible movie.
If Sony is the one to bring this project together, you have villains such as the Sinister 6, the Symbiotes and many more to bring to the fold. It could be a project that would break numbers at the Box Office.
Tom Holland is only 24 years old, and currently playing Peter Parker in the MCU, and has a third movie poised for release. Tobey is 45, and Andrew is 37. Meaning these actors are only getting older and the time to pull the trigger on this is now.
Fanart posters surface the internet from time to time that are actually very well made, people often believe it’s legit. Although these are just fan-made, the hype becomes very real on these specific types of posts. People get excited, the posts are shared all over social media and it just shows it’s what people want.
For me, another reason why I think this should happen is to introduce Miles Morale live-action going forward. This movie could easily set the way for the character to finally come to the big screen after his popularity continues to surge, with thanks to comics, animations and the upcoming PS4/5 videogame.
When it comes down to plans of what the movie’s story should be, it’s difficult to point to one as there are many, many different possibilities the movie could run down, but either way, no matter what, I’d be excited nonetheless.
Tom Holland’s current deal is set to see him receive one more standalone movie, and rumours are he also has another one so we’re not too sure. Surely Marvel and Sony could work this out to allow this movie to happen. After all, they’re sitting on a goldmine with this.
There is a selection of fans out there that are divided on who the best live-action Spider-Man is out of Tobey, Andrew and Tom. This would level those divisions and bring everyone together to enjoy what I’m sure, would be a movie for the ages.
With J. Jonah Jameson’s return to Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Jamie Foxx set to return as Electro, could they already be shaping up to this? Who knows, but we hope so!
