Why A Third Live-Action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie Should Have Happened

Now this article isn’t about the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies from the 90s, this article is about the “reboot” movies that started in 2014. Personally, this franchise went under the radar for a lot of reasons.

The 2014 movie set the basis for the franchise. It delivered a new look at the Turtles in New York. It showcased the Turtles not in an origin per se in the usual way, but more so that they were a myth and had been established for a couple of years.

The second film, while not as great as the first film, was still an amazing film with the introduction of Casey Jones played by Stephen Amell. This movie also relied on tech from a different universe. So this could have been a catalyst for the third film.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2014)

I think every fan of these characters would want a Last Ronin movie. Especially with the video game being announced back in August of 2023. This is one of the best stories from within the TMNT so having this as a potential third and final film in the franchise would do incredible at the box office.

Generally, this franchise is very much underrated and generally has some of the best humor, action, and character development in the films. I would have loved to see a third and final film.

The 2014 film did well at the box office, the movie had a budget of around $125 – 150 million, and at the box office, it made $485 million. The second film had a budget of $135 million and just made over $245 million.
