Hawkeye is one of the most underrated characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, his “origins” untold, Budapest has always been teased, and his friendship with Black Widow has gone on for years.
I’ve always said these two characters need their own movie, even though I would have loved a Hawkeye movie, I’ll take the Disney+ show as a compromise… especially with the story and characters, it is introducing not only into the show but the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole.
I think Hawkeye has always stood out as a character for me personally because he’s essentially just a human that’s good at shooting arrows, he doesn’t have millions to make tech or suits, hasn’t got the super serum in him, he isn’t a god or infused with gamma radiation.
Disney+ has done well with its recent castings from unknown actors to known actors like Oscar Isaac. So casting Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop is perfect.
She was one of the main reasons why I think Bumblebee had good success for what it was. I’m excited to see what the story brings involving Kate. I hope this isn’t the only series we see Hailee as Kate in.
Also not to mention the recent rumors of Florence Pugh appearing in the Hawkeye Disney+ series I’m curious as to why, what will the chemistry be between Yelena and Clint, as well as why is Yelena wearing a Ronin-type suit? Why isn’t she the new Black Widow?
It’s all to come in the series, which is hoping for a 2021 release. Let’s pray it sticks and we get to see this series next year.
