Why I’m Excited To Play Miles Morales On PS5

It’s June 2016, the E3 event is happening and the next thing we know, we’re currently watching a Spider-Man trailer. What makes it different, is this time it’s not Activision throwing out a half-baked game, instead, it’s Insomniac Games with a brand new IP.

It was then well over 2 years to wait for the full game to launch, and I will happily stand here and say the wait was truly worth it. The game was phenomenal. The updated mechanics were great, the story was emotional and gripping. The combat, the graphics, everything down to swinging through the city was so well done.

We even got the introduction to Miles Morales, and it was set up from there. Now, Insomniac recently announced an expansion to the original back at the PS5 launch event, again, much to people’s surprise.

We’ve had a couple of trailers, you can see all the content here;

If you pre-order the game, you do receive extra content including the Into the Spider-Verse suit;

Now, just on those alone, that’s why I am excited to play this. Not only that, this will be my first experience on the PS5 as well.

The game looks brilliant, it may not be as long as the original Spider-Man PS4 game, but I don’t mind. It’s about time Miles Morales is getting his time to shine, and shine he will on a huge platform.

One of the things I like about this; it’s that Miles is a newer character. Having only been around close to 10 years in the comics, so his backstory is still new to a lot of people. Even Spider-Man fans.

Insomniac can switch ways to make the character work, and I believe they will do that in the upcoming game. We’ve seen plenty of footage now, even including a small clip of him and Peter Parker working together. It all just looks amazing.

We know the original PS4 game is being remastered, albeit fans understandably annoyed with the change of Peter Parker. However, the new mechanics look exceptionally well done, even smoother and better than the original.

Granted, the game will be filled a bunch of collectables to find, and side missions to do but this is what an open-world game is all about. I really enjoyed doing this on the first and I can’t wait to platinum this absolute powerhouse.
