First thing’s first, I want to state that I personally love both Solo and Rogue One, I think that Rogue one is one of the better Star Wars stories told and it gave us the best Darth Vader moment in cinema.
But why does everyone give Solo a hard time when in fact it was also some of the best Star Wars stories to be told. It gave us the origins of one beloved character in Han Solo, how he came to meet Lando and Chewie, and even introduced Dryden Vos, a high-ranking crime boss who is a part of Crimson Dawn Syndicate.
The movie also gave us some great action other than Jedi’s or Sith’s with lightsabers, it focused on the smuggler side of the Star Wars Universe. The movie also gave us Beckett, who in fact taught Han a lot of stuff he used later on in his life.
While Rogue One had some great action and moments throughout the movie, It was quite depressing and sad whereas Solo had that comedic relief throughout the movie.
Not to mention we finally, after all these years got Darth Maul returned to live-action after the events of the Clone Wars and being chopped in half by Obi-Wan. Even if it was for a few moments, witnessing Maul live-action again was truly amazing and unexpected.
Solo is truly one of the most underrated Star Wars stories and fully deserves a sequel movie, even if it’s a Disney+ exclusive movie would be fully worth it seeing the young characters of Han, Chewie, and Lando on adventures.
Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, and Donald Glover all gave incredible performances and would be a waste of talent on just a solo movie (pun intended).
Not the mention that the movie delivered a couple of scenes truly showcasing some of the Stormtrooper’s wars after Revenge of the Sith and what they went through in the trenches to conquer planets and showcase their strength to the galaxy.
