We are just a mere week and a half away from the worldwide release of the very long-awaited Snyder Cut, 4 years in the making (technically 5 with filming) but fans around the globe can finally watch the original Justice League movie.
This movie is important to Zack Snyder, to the actors and crew of the movie, and more importantly, the fans. The fans were robbed of this movie by Joss Whedon, Geoff Johns, and Warner Bros.
After years of none stop campaigning, Twitter accounts, YouTube videos, Facebook pages, and a lot more campaigning and asking for the movie to be released we finally have it.
March 18th is when it will release, I, among other fans are finally ready to sit down and bask in all of its glory, seeing the original storylines for each character, a better version of Steppenwolf, and finally, Darkseid.
Why is this movie so important?
- First off, this will be Zack Snyder’s true vision for his movie, the one he deserved to get at the beginning. Unfortunately, when filming the Justice League movie, an unfortunate family issue made Zack leave production in which Joss Whedon was brought in and changed around 80% of Zack’s script.
- The actors of the “Josstice League” were robbed of the scenes they had already filmed, they were forced to reshoot scenes, changed dialogue, forced scenes into the movie, and then even changed the designs of the villains and cut Darkseid out.
- The fans of Zack Snyder, DC Comics, and Justice League thought they were still getting the original movie Zack created back then. Even in early screenings the movie did badly but still released.
Back when the Justice League movie was released, fans immediately went online and created the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement online. This movement alone grew over 180,000 signatures, even since then the movement has grown insanely bigger.
The movement even grew bigger when actors of the movie even supported the movement.
What are the differences to the 2017 version?
Well, one big difference is that the Snyder Cut will be longer, much longer. Over 4 hours long to be fair. This goes to show just how much was ruined in the 2017 version.
Back in October Zack and the actors went on to film some additional scenes for the movie. It was great to see the studio actually letting this happen and even gave Zack some budget for the movie.
Joss Whedon’s original problems on set
We knew Joss had changed a lot of the original script, what people didn’t know was just how bad he actually was on set. From forcing scenes like the one where Flash is laid on top of Wonder Woman, This scene was forced in, even Gal Gadot refused, Joss brought in a stunt double to film it.
Then the issues with Ray Fisher came to light, racism, and much more. This resulted in a huge investigation into the actions and into behavior on set. This lead to Ray Fisher taking a public stand against Joss Whedon, Geoff Johns, Walter Hamada, and Warner Bros.
This eventually led to Ray Fisher stating he would never work with DC Comics as long as Walter Hamada is in charge, Hamada eventually tried to make people forget by announcing Jason Mamoa in another role for another movie.
Eventually, Ray revealed more stuff like Hamada trying to derail the investigation and more. After this, it was announced that Ray Fisher’s Cyborg would not actually be in The Flash movie which he was announced to be in months prior.
Let’s not forget that in Zack’s original vision, Cyborg was the heart of the movie, the heart of the league, and had a much bigger story and part in the movie, Joss changed and removed basically all of his stories. This is one of the bigger things Joss did with the movie.
The Hate
It’s no secret that there are fandoms online that like to hate, like to hate Zack, like to hate DC Comics, and just hate in general.
This is a movie that can be enjoyed by literally everyone, even the hardcore Marvel fans. This is a very much needed movie.
We have people who like to purely hate on Zack and everything he does, everything he tweets, and even create YouTube videos to purely hate on him.
We also have the Marvel fandom who like to hate, The “Marvel is superior” fandom who hate on DC Comics, the state of their movies, and more. It’s just not needed. DC is different from Marvel, it’s darker, more brutal, and much grittier.
Then unfortunately we have the group who take it too far and hate on Zack and make fun or make jokes and memes about Zack’s daughter who died back when he originally had to leave the Justice League movie.
This is by far the worst part of the internet who hate on Zack, it’s beyond sick and is just not needed, it’s the worst thing people do to hate. They make jokes or comments like “she died because of Zacks movies” and worse things.
This is a movie that can be enjoyed by everyone, no matter who directed the movie, no matter how much you hate Snyder, you can still enjoy this movie.
I can not wait to watch the entire 4-hour cut of Justice League, I’ve waited 4 years for this movie, I can actually say I’ve seen Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
This isn’t the only movie Warner Bros. has gone in and ruined, It’s happened with Birds of Prey, and they completely ruined David Ayer’s Suicide Squad.
Fans initially loved Suicide Squad in test screenings and early releases in theaters, but once that was over, Warner Bros. changed everything, cut scenes from the Joker, and more.
This is another movie which is needed a new cut and very much needed soon.
