Yu-Gi-Oh Legendary Duelists Season 2 Review

For the past month or so, each Wednesday when I’ve gone into town to pick up my weekly comics, I’d go into Geek Retreat in town, and instantly, every single time this box would catch my eye and I’d either look or stare at it and pay for my other cards and then leave, well today when I went into I bought a box to test out and review.

The Legendary Duelists season 2 box cost me £13.50 for the box and in this box, it comes with 2 packs of cards which contain 18 cards, a variant of a secret rare card in the set, and a collectible dice. This alone, is worth £13.50, as one single pack of this box costs around £5.50.

For beginners?

Would I recommend this box for any beginner (such as myself)? Yes I would, I think this box gives you enough cards, to begin with, never mind anything you pull inside the packs, you also get a variant of a secret rare card as a free card in the box, which makes it worth it.

The cards you get in the packs can range from anything, and it gives you enough cards to make a starter deck, it gives you enough trap cards, and some monster cards to help you with, and for the price, it’s easily affordable.

For Collectors

For collectors, I’d say, buying this would definitely be a 50/50 decision, for me, as a collector and less of an actual player of the game, I bought this cause it caught my eye, but the cards inside have decent enough artwork for cards to be sleeved up.

Would I send any of these cards to get graded to add to my collection? Probably not but I’d easily sleeve them up and put them away in a binder to fill out a collection of Yu-Gi-Oh cards for the future.

Purely For Profit

In my packs, the cards were not that special, I did get some alright cards, nothing majorly expensive, but the secret variant card actually was worth enough for me to make my money back and then some profit after that, the rest of the cards were average at best.

Again, would I send any of these cards away to get graded to sell on for a profit? Maybe, if I was to do this, it would maybe raise the price of the card about £20, so if I was to do it, I need to wait a few weeks for the card to be graded and returned, and then I would need to wait for a buyer, if any actually show, so as to make a profit, I’d potentially sell these cards in singles or bulk buy.

Overall Verdict

My overall verdict would be that this box is somewhat worth it, it’s all dependent on if you strike lucky in the packs, I would recommend buying this box simply because of the value that you get in it, although If I was to buy this box again, I would definitely pick up a couple of boxes at a time.
